Built for BVLOS

MISSIONS BEYOND VISUAL LINE OF SIGHT BVLOS

BVLOS Missions have very special requirements for the aircraft. This includes reliable communication over several hundred kilometers, integration into regular airspace, communication with manned aircraft and autonomous emergency programs that react in the event of an incident in a way that protects people and the environment. All of these features, together with low noise emissions and low energy consumption, characterize the GT20 (optional extras required)

THE GYROCOPTER PRINCIPLE

It was in January 1923, when Spanish Engineer and Aviation enthusiast Juan de la Cierva first flew his own creation at Cuarto Vientos Airfield in Madrid. His target was to invent an aircraft that would fly safely at low speed and could not stall.

Today, a gyrocopter is considered the safest of all aircraft concepts.

A Gyrocopter makes use of the airflow to rotate the main rotor and generate lift (Autorotation).

The result is a very low energy consumption in fast forward flight.

The Gyrotrak behaves like a Gyrocopter in fast forward and like a helicopter in vertical starting, landing and during hovering.

Autorotation
Emergency Landing

In the unlikely event of a loss of main energy, the GT20 Gyrotrak is able to fly to a pre defined landing site and land autonomously. The emergency landing site distance can be up to 10 times the Gyrotrak’s altitude. With an altitude difference from flight level to landing site of 400m, the landing site can be up to 4km away (without wind).

LIDAR INTEGRATION

The seamless integration of a RIEGL VUX-120 and other LiDAR scanners makes GT25 a perfect machine for large scale mapping operations. The VUX LiDAR’s power supply comes directly from the GT25 battery.

POWERED BY AUTERION

At the heart of the Gyrotrak system works one of the best commercial autopilot systems in its class: Auterions Skynode, an advanced avionics module which connects drones to the Auterion Suite enabling real-time video streams, fleet management, predictive maintenance and compliance reporting.

  • Real-time video streams
  • Fleet management
  • Predictive maintenance
  • Compliance reporting

AN EXTENSIVE SOFTWARE PACKAGE

While Auterion’s Mission Control is equipped with easy-to-use controls and intuitive views, enabling drone operators to plan and execute drone missions efficiently, the Auterion Suite is where the data of your fleet is collected, analyzed and presented. Get insights on vehicles, assets and operations to keep control over your robotics program. Data is delivered automatically and in real-time while the drones are flying and without any manual intervention.

  • Easy Mission planning and execution
  • Drone program management
  • Real-time analytics

Operation Polar Bear

An intense November week in North Dakota is behind us with temperatures well below freezing and wind speeds of an official winter storm. In numerous demo flights and test series, the GT25 has shown what it is able to do even under the most adverse conditions. We are proud of the machine and proud of our team, who, despite the freezing cold, went through their program with great motivation! Thank you to each and every one of you, to the people who ventured out to see the GT25 in action, and to University of North Dakota for the amazing support.

MULTIPLE TAKEOFFS AND LANDINGS

Due to the aerodynamical construction of Gyrotrak and its unique Gyrocopter mode, the UAV has a wide range and very long flight times. But unlike a VTOL fixed wing drone, it is capable of multiple takeoffs and landings as well as unlimited hovering during one mission.

DAY AND NIGHT OPERATIONAL

With its optional night flight equipment and its BVLOS abilities, the GT20 is able to perform missions during day and night time. The available low light and thermal cameras as well as the landing spotlight reduce the stress of night operations

ALL WEATHER CAPABILITY

Gyrotraks are known for their legendary wind resistance including high gusts. In constant to VTOL fixed wing drones, Gyrotraks are stable in harsh weather conditions especially during takeoff, landing and hovering. With its IPX5 protection class, Gyrotrak is also capable of operating in rain.
